What is a Celadon High Performance Probe Card?

A Celadon high performance probe card consists of a proprietary solid ceramic block (the Tile) into which the replaceable probes are mounted in a proprietary crash resistant probe cavity, a rigid aluminum or stainless steel frame (the Platform), an optional frame and each probe is wired to a connector or printed circuit board trace.

How is a probe Tile Mounted?

Celadon Probe card tiles are mounted either on mounting plates, frames that fit into industry standard 4.5 probe card holders, VersaPlatesTM, or hardware to fit a new patented industry standard called the Celadon Modular Adapter TM. The Celadon Modular Adapter TM allows the mounting of a Celadon Card onto a probe station. The Celadon Modular Adapter TM differs from conventional probe cards due to interchangeability of parts, versatility, high rigidity and ease of adjusting planarity while allowing theta adjustments. Most conventional probe card holders are not rated for the type of mechanical stress a Multi-Site probe card generates between the chuck and plate.

Celadon has also come up with a product called a VersaTileTM that mounts to a standard probe station planarizing positioner on a VersaTileTM Chasis. This system allows the mounting of up to 8 tiles on a probe station. Shown is a system for holding for VersaTilesTM.
